Design Automation Appoints Craig Wentzel VP Worldwide Sales
Veteran EDA and
Electronics Industry Executive to Lead Growing Sales
Organization
SANTA CLARA,
CA, — August 17, 2010— Berkeley Design Automation, Inc.,
provider of the Analog FastSPICE™ unified circuit verification
platform (AFS Platform), today announced that Craig Wentzel has joined
the company as vice president of worldwide sales. A recognized EDA and
electronics industry sales executive, Wentzel will lead the
company’s worldwide sales organization as the company extends its
leadership in nanometer circuit verification.
“Craig has a proven track record of leading teams that rapidly
grow sales while developing exceptional value-based customer
relationships,” said Ravi Subramanian, president and CEO at
Berkeley Design Automation. “Craig brings a wealth of experience
and knowledge to BDA, and he will play a pivotal role in continuing our
rapid growth and increasing the proliferation of our nanometer circuit
verification technology worldwide.”
Craig Wentzel is a 28-year veteran of the EDA and Test and Measurement
industries. He has held a range of executive positions throughout his
career, including VP of sales for the Americas at IBM, VP of sales for
Magma Design Automation, senior VP of business operations for Get2Chip,
and VP of sales and business development for Cadence Design Systems.
Wentzel is a founder of Applied Cell Processing Technology. Inc. He
began his career at Tektronix Inc., where he held several management,
sales engineering, and business development positions. Wentzel has been
an instrumental part of two successful IPOs and many acquisitions. He
holds a BS in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Technology
from The College of New Jersey, and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from
Rutgers University. Wentzel is currently an adjunct professor of
engineering at The College of New Jersey, and an active member of the
IEEE.
